Dragon's Rise: The Forgotten Realms

A long time ago this place was founded by mysterious 'people' who were the only ones able to coexist with dragons. As they chose a mountainous and quite inaccessible terrain for their settlement, it was difficult to find suitable flora. Therefore, in order to properly adapt this place to the role of a colony for small dragons, they decided to build a magic pillar that would supply the nearby area with magic that would support the growth of plants. Then they started planting trees that grew into powerful objects at an express pace, and only then they planted dragon eggs in them. Thousands of years have passed, and although these people have disappeared or hid fairly well, the colony has caught on and the dragons still leave their eggs there
I chose the forest precisely because it is not associated with dragons because they are too big for this biome. But thanks to that, I thought that it could bring up little dragons that are not fully independent. And so, during the incubation period until becoming independent, young dragons would live in such an environment. When they reach adulthood, they will leave this place, freeing it for the next generation.
Regarding the influence of magical energy - the idea of huge trees as incubators shows how over time the presence of dragons changed the immediate environment. The magical energy allowed the trees to become much larger, and thus also became a place where dragon eggs could be placed. Additionally, thanks to magic, plants have gained something like their own will - they can make protect dragon eggs as soon as they feel any threat to them.
